Beachrun Scheveningen

About the race

Beachrun Scheveningen is a winter beach race with the skyline of The Hague as its backdrop: the route passes the Kurhaus and the lighthouse and runs under the Scheveningen pier. You choose between a single lap of 7 kilometres and two laps totalling 14 kilometres; there is also a kids run over 750 or 1500 metres. All distances start in the afternoon and the finish closes two hours later, with two-lap runners required to begin their second lap within the hour. Most of the course is on the sand, with a stiff climb along the way that makes the lap that bit harder. Wind, sand and weather count for more here than pace does. Every finisher receives a metal medal.
