The Guldensporenjogging is the fair run of Opwijk and is organised by the local athletics club. The afternoon opens with three children's races that step neatly up with age: a sweet run of 200 metres for the very youngest, a children's run of 400 metres and a youth run of 800 metres. Every child receives a medal, a bag of sweets and an ice cream at the finish. At half past three the jog itself sets off over one or two laps of five kilometres. You can enter up to a quarter of an hour before the start, and on the 5 and the 10 kilometres the first three women and men take the podium.
