Freedom Run - Liberty Loop

About the race

The Freedom Run - Liberty Loop in Geldrop ties running to the memory of the liberation. The four running distances carry not a figure in kilometres but the name of a veteran: Bill over four miles, Joe over eight, Armando over ten and Montgomery over the half marathon. There is also a free children's run over half a mile or a full one, which schools and clubs can enter as a large group. Walkers follow a route of their own past war memorials and through streets that carry the names of the liberation. That makes the day as much a commemoration as a race.
