The Pajotse Parel Trail of Atletiekclub Pajottenland sets off from the Processiestraat in Gooik and heads out into the rolling Pajottenland. There are four distances — 6, 11, 22 and 33 kilometres — with the longest climbing to some 440 metres of elevation gain: not a flat village race, then, but a course that seeks out the hills between the villages. For children there are short races on the track, from 400 metres up. Every participant takes home a prize in kind and the first three on each distance are honoured. The race was formerly called the Evillas Tour. The combination of club facilities as a base and genuine trail terrain around them keeps the event small in scale without losing any of its challenge.
