Ekiden Deinze is a marathon relay organised by Scouting Deinze, with start and exchange zone on the scout grounds at Leon Declercqstraat. Teams of one to five runners cover 42.195 km together on a loop of about 3.26 km that is run thirteen times. Each runner completes their assigned section in one block and exchanges only in the official zone, so strategy and team planning matter. The event is therefore not an ultra race, but a road relay with a strong team character. The programme also includes kids runs of 200, 400 and 800 metres. Because the course repeatedly passes the start and finish area, it remains easy to follow for supporters and teammates.
