The EcoSwimrun Belgium is held at the lake of Robertville, in the municipality of Waimes on the edge of the High Fens. Swimrun is a discipline in which running and open water swimming alternate continuously: participants enter the water in a wetsuit and run out of it again, without a transition zone and carrying all their gear. Several distances are on offer, each of which can be tackled solo or as a pair, with duos covering the course together. The name refers to the approach: the organisers explicitly aim to keep the impact on the nature around the lake as small as possible.
