The Marathon des Hautes Fagnes starts and finishes at the Belgium Peak Beer brewery in Sourbrodt, close to the Signal de Botrange and the Baraque Michel — the highest ground in Belgium. There are three distances, named after beer glasses: le Galopin over 10 kilometres with 140 metres of climbing, la Pinte over 21 with 265 and la Chope over 42 with 605. The course runs through the fens and the woods around them, a landscape of peat, scrub birch and open plain where the weather turns quickly. Entry numbers are kept limited, which keeps the event familial. There is a separate race for children. It is organised by Belgium Peak Beer and Xrun.
