The Drutenloop starts and finishes on the market square in Druten and fills an entire Sunday. The morning opens with the nature walk of 5 or 10 kilometres, followed by the youth races: 1000 metres in three age groups and 500 metres for the youngest, who may be accompanied by a parent. Then come the 1500 metres for anyone aged twelve and over, the half marathon along the dykes and through the floodplains, and the 5 and 10 kilometres along the Waal embankment and through the centre. New to the programme is a fitness race alternating running with strength stations. Notably, the half marathon sets off before the shorter distances.
