A.V. Climax Horaloop

About the race

The A.V. Climax Horaloop runs through the Hoekelum woods and the rolling brook valley around the Renkum stream, starting and finishing on the north side of Kasteel Hoekelum in Bennekom. Every distance is a single loop, partly on paved cycle paths and partly on unpaved track, which makes the race feel compact but certainly not flat. Alongside the 5 and 10 kilometres the programme features ten English miles: 16.1 kilometres, and it is precisely that distance that gives this race its own face. Younger runners have shorter races. There are water stations along the route and timing is by chip, so recreational and competitive runners are both catered for. The whole thing is run by the organising athletics club, with an emphasis on simplicity and landscape.
