The Diepe Hel Holterbergloop spreads across two days in and around Holten, starting and finishing on the Broensweg. On Saturday evening the nightrun and the nightwalk set off over six kilometres through the dark forest. Sunday is the main day: the walking routes early in the morning, the kids runs over 400, 800 and 1200 metres around midday, and the ten kilometres and the half marathon in the afternoon. The course crosses the Sallandse Heuvelrug and includes the climb through the Diepe Hel, the passage that gives the race its name and its reputation. Woodland, heath and relief alternate, and every distance returns to the start area. The event is organised by Stichting Diepe Hel Holterbergloop.
