Devil's Trail - Utrechtse Heuvelrug

About the race

The Devil's Trail sets off from the Doornse Gat on the Leersumsestraatweg, a former sand quarry in the middle of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Every distance carries the name of a hill or heath on the route: Ruiterberg over 8 kilometres, Breeveen over 16, Hoge Ginkel over 26 and Galgenberg over 36. There is also the Duivelse Ultra of 160 kilometres, which sets off on Saturday evening while the rest go on Sunday morning. The organisers are open about the stated distances deviating five to ten percent from your GPS — on this ground that is more honest than a figure quoted to the hundred metres. The race is run cup-free.
