De 15 van Wassenaar is run in the afternoon, both distances setting off at half past two: 15 kilometres or half of that, 7.5. The course stays within Wassenaar itself and passes the village centre, the country estates and the villa districts, which gives it a different face from a race through open country. The field is capped at twelve hundred. The event runs on some hundred volunteers from the village, and that sets the tone: plenty of familiar faces along the road and a race that plainly belongs to the place.
