Cens'Trail sets off from the Salle Aux 4 Vents in Cens, a hamlet of Tenneville in the middle of the Ardennes, and is carried by the local sports centre. There are three distances — 10, 20 and 26.5 kilometres — with the longest leaving first and the shortest last, so the field comes back at roughly the same time. The relief does the rest: this is Ardennes terrain, so the climbing rises with the distance and the ascents are short but solid. Very little decoration comes into it. Anyone who comes here comes for the course and for an organisation that keeps to the essentials.
