Brekeld Runners Trail

About the race

The Brekeld Runners Trail sets off at Sportpark de Koerbelt in Rijssen and heads from there into the area around De Borkeld and the Biesterij: forest floor, sandy tracks, heath and small pools, ninety-eight percent of it unpaved. There are five distances from 10 to 50 kilometres, and the start times run backwards — the 30 goes at eleven, the 10 not until one. The longer routes take in the Ravijntjes, the Leemspoor and the Friezenberg, including the staircase known locally as the hardest stretch. The 50 kilometres is largely navigated by gps; the shorter distances follow markings. The event is organised by Atletiekvereniging Rijssen.
