The Boksrun takes place on and around the grounds of KSK Kallo in Beveren and was set up by BOKS vzw, the Belgian organisation for children and adults with a metabolic disorder. What sets the event apart is the make-up of the programme: alongside a 5 and 10 kilometre race and a kids' run there is a recreational wheelchair race and a handbike race, a combination rarely seen on a single day. The two longest distances also have a team classification. The site is set up for accessibility, with separate changing rooms and parking for disabled participants, first aid and a cafeteria. The race is part of the BKZeven, the points series linking seven races in Beveren, Kruibeke and Zwijndrecht.
