iLumen Bilzen 111 Triathlon is a non-drafting triathlon based around the Kanaalbar and the Albert Canal in Bilzen. The race has one clear format: 1 km of swimming, 100 km of cycling and 10 km of running, adding up to the familiar 111 distance. Start, transition and finish are grouped compactly around Kanaaldijkstraat 4, which also makes the course easy for supporters to follow. The swim takes place in the canal setting, the bike leg is completed over several laps and the run stays close to the water. That makes Bilzen 111 a fast, readable triathlon with a strong canal atmosphere: demanding because of the long bike section, but clearly structured and professionally framed by Sportevents.
