Beachrun Wenduine is the beach race staged by De Haan, starting and finishing at the Rotonde on the seafront promenade in Wenduine. The evening opens with the youth races, divided into six series for girls and boys: 400 metres for the youngest, 800 metres for ages eight to eleven and 1600 metres for ages twelve to fourteen, over one, two or four laps along the promenade. An hour later the main distances set off together. The 10.5 kilometres counts towards the Loopcriterium van de Kust coastal series; the 4.5 kilometres is explicitly a family and recreational run that stays outside that classification. The course keeps hold of the Wenduine coastal setting, with beach, seafront and dunes as its defining elements.
