BATT Eco Tri is a triathlon weekend at the Étang de Freux near Libramont, in the Ardennes. Saturday belongs to the youngsters: first the kids duathlons in three age classes, then the youth triathlons rising to the juniors. Sunday brings the Sprint and the Standard, alongside a Découverte for anyone wanting to try the sport and a handisport race. New to the line-up is the Relais Mixte, held here as a Francophone championship. Because everything plays out around the same pond, competitors and spectators watch each other's races all day — from an eight-year-old to a triathlete over the Olympic distance.
