The 10 Mijl van Aalter is the evening race of Joggingclub Aalter, starting and finishing at the Sportpark Aalter-centrum on the Lindestraat. The three distances set off together at half past seven in the evening: the ten miles of 16 kilometres, the 10 and the 6. Anyone who has not entered in advance can still sign up on the spot until a quarter of an hour before the gun, albeit at a higher rate. The secretariat and sports café open two hours ahead, and the podium ceremonies follow at half past nine. The sports park has changing rooms and showers, and there is a supervised bag drop. Every participant goes home with a prize in kind, a detail that fits the club character of this race.
