XTERRA Ardennes is the off-road triathlon at the Gileppe reservoir, part of the international XTERRA World Tour and embedded in the sporting weekend of La Gileppe Trophy. Three formats are on offer. The sprint distance combines 250 metres of swimming with 18 kilometres of mountain bike or gravel and 3 kilometres of trail. The full distance covers 1 kilometre of swimming, 42 kilometres of mountain biking and 8 kilometres of trail. The long distance is the hardest, with 1,900 metres of swimming, 70 kilometres of riding and 16 kilometres of trail running. Every leg plays out in the forest and moorland around the lake, where the bike and running routes share the same rugged terrain. Sport & Tourism Promotion organises the race.
