The Wij(k)loop Kermisloop is the village race of Loppem, part of the municipality of Zedelgem, and coincides with the local funfair. The start is at the crossroads of Dorp and Stationsstraat, in the middle of the village. Adults choose between 5 and 10 kilometres. The race forms part of the wij(k)lopen, a recreational running circuit of the municipality of Zedelgem for children, youth and adults in which no final standings are deliberately kept. That sets the tone: taking part counts for more here than the time on the clock. Because the race falls in the funfair weekend, it flows on into the festivities in the village centre.
