The Trail de Dinant sets off from the Chemin d'Herbuchenne, on the heights above the Meuse, and explores the cliffs and paths around the town. There are six distances: 6, 12.9, 22, 30, 42 and 58.5 kilometres, with 200 to 1700 metres of climbing. That ratio says everything — there is real climbing here, because Dinant sits wedged between limestone cliffs. The two shortest go on Saturday evening, the rest on Sunday morning. Anyone who would rather walk can cover every distance as a marche on the Saturday, with wide starting windows. Entry is in advance only.
