Trail Chalet Radar is a trail run at Chalet Radar in Flobecq, in the heart of the Flemish Ardennes on the edge of the Pays des Collines. There are two distances: 7 kilometres with 150 metres of climbing and 16 kilometres with 300 metres, both on unpaved paths through the hills. The striking feature is the rolling start: runners set off whenever it suits them, between eight in the morning and midday, which spreads out the crowd and makes the day feel looser than a conventional starting gun. Times are still recorded and there are podium prizes, while anyone entering in advance gets a goodie bag and can add a pasta box afterwards. The trail stays competitive without turning into a mass event.
