The Smokkelaars Trail is a trail run in the border area between Tilburg, Goirle and Belgian Poppel. The routes follow old smuggling paths through estates and wooded areas on both sides of the border. The 19 April 2026 edition started and finished at the Rocks & Rivers site on Gorpsbaantje in Goirle. Trail runners could choose 8.7 km, 12 km, 21 km or 27 km; walkers had routes of 8.7 km, 12 km and 21 km. The longer distances give the event much of its character, with kilometres through Belgium and a border crossing in the spirit of the old smugglers’ paths.
