The Warandeloop Tilburg is a three-day international running event in Stadsbos 013, around the Oude Warande near Tilburg University. It draws some five thousand participants and six thousand spectators every year, and owes its character to a long cross-country history. The programme is broad: the Warande by Night opens the weekend, followed by school races, youth competitions under the national athletics federation and finally the Warandecross, where the international field lines up. For recreational runners the 5 kilometres covers flat paths through the woods. That build-up makes it more than a standalone race: you step into a Tilburg running weekend where schoolchildren, club runners and international cross-country athletes all meet on the same course.
