The SISU Oudejaarscross is the end-of-year race of the Almelo athletics club SISU, run in the Nijrees woods over an entirely unpaved course. The start and finish are by the ZDA church on the Oude Deldenseweg, in the middle of the forest. The 10-kilometre long cross opens the day in the morning; the afternoon brings the youth distances of 1, 1.5 and 2.5 kilometres, with the 5-kilometre short cross closing proceedings. The youngsters run by age group, so beginning cross-country runners have a race of their own too. Late entry is possible up to forty minutes before each start in the ZDA building, right by the start and finish. The unpaved course gives the race a pronounced cross-country character.
