Schootse Parochiejogging

About the race

The Schootse Parochiejogging starts at the OC De Kriekel hall on the Sint-Jozefsplein in Schoot, a hamlet of Tessenderlo, and has now run for twenty-eight editions. There are three distances: 4.5, 8.5 and 12.5 kilometres. The course is flat and runs through rural country, with roughly thirty percent unpaved. The children's races open the evening at five, and half an hour later the adult distances set off. The circuit is closed to traffic and accompanied by cyclists, so that less experienced runners can take part comfortably too. At the finish there are drinks and showers, every participant receives a prize and children get a surprise pack.
