The Rovertsche Leij Trail sets off from Poppel, a border village in the municipality of Ravels just south of Tilburg, and follows the winding brook the race is named after. The course crosses the border along the way and runs through the Dutch nature reserves around Gorp en Roovert. Four distances are on offer: 10, 15, 21 and 25 kilometres. Despite the trail label the terrain is largely flat, which makes the race suitable for anyone running off-road for the first time without the longer distances losing their challenge. The trail forms part of the Brabantse Trailserie, a series bringing together several races in the border region.
