Rondje Rijen is the road race of AV Spiridon, with start and finish at the Den Butter sports centre. There are four distances: youth races over 500 and 1000 metres, run on the ring road and free of charge, and 5 and 10 kilometres for adults, setting off five minutes apart. The course is fully paved and runs largely through the Rijens Broek, the rural area around the village. The 10 kilometres counts towards the Regio 13 road circuit. On that distance the course records stand at 33:08 for men and 36:52 for women, with prize money for anyone who improves them — an incentive that goes further than the village setting might suggest.
