Rondje Vrachelen is ATV Scorpio's Wednesday evening race, starting and finishing on the athletics track on the Wilhelminakanaal Zuid in Oosterhout. At half past seven two distances go off: a recreational six kilometres and an officially measured ten kilometres that counts towards the Regio 13 road circuit. From the track the course heads straight into the green country around Vrachelen, over a mix of paved and unpaved paths — more varied than the average asphalt loop, but easy underfoot. There are no youth distances, which is unusual for a Dutch club evening race and worth knowing before you turn up with children.
