The Roman Duo Race in Ettelgem is an obstacle run you complete strictly in pairs. You do not enter as an individual but as a duo, and you pay per duo as well. There are two formats: the Minimus over 4 kilometres with fourteen obstacles and the Maximus over 6 kilometres with eighteen. The categories make the difference — man-man, woman-man, woman-woman and parent-child — so you can start with anyone without being out of place. More to the point: you cover the course together, so waiting for each other at an obstacle is part of it. Speed counts, but not if it leaves your partner behind.
