The Relais des Castors is a relay in Buvrinnes that you enter in pairs. Each runner first covers a lap alone; the final lap the duo runs to the finish together. That makes it different from an ordinary road race: you alternate between full effort, waiting and cheering, and in the end the pace of the slower one counts. The 9.6 kilometres carry 162 metres of climbing, which earns the race a hard rating within the Challenge Hainaut — this is no flat team event. Start and finish are on the Place de Buvrinnes, with changing rooms, showers and a bag drop. The youth races leave at the start of the afternoon. Ducasse Saint-Pierre organises the event.
