The Ostbelgien Triathlon starts from the wall of the Weser dam near Eupen. The swim takes place in the reservoir, after which the bike course climbs through the High Fens nature park to the highest point of Eupen and returns to the dam down a fast descent. The run laps follow the lake as far as the forestry station and back. There are four formats: the middle distance with 1.9 kilometres of swimming, 73.5 kilometres on the bike and 20 kilometres of running, the Olympic distance with 1.5, 49 and 10 kilometres, and the sprint with 500 metres, 24.5 and 5 kilometres, which can also be entered as a relay. The finish and the race office are at the visitor centre by the dam.
