The Oranjeloop is the evening race of Oranjevereniging Nunspeet through the village centre, starting and finishing on the Dorpsstraat. Everything revolves around a 2.5-kilometre lap, which you run once, twice or four times. The gun goes at seven and the prize ceremony is already at eight — this is an evening that is over quickly, not a day-long event. The field is deliberately capped at 550 entries, which on a compact town-centre course is the difference between busy and too busy. Timing uses an ankle chip that you hand back after the finish. The 2.5 kilometres is mainly the distance the youngsters take on.
