The Oliebollenloop Gorredijk rounds off the year with a road race starting from the Kortezwaag sports and leisure centre. Adults choose between 10 kilometres and 4 English miles; on both distances company teams run alongside individual entrants and start at the same moment. The morning opens with the free kids run, split across three distances and three start times: 600 metres for school years 3 and 4, 900 metres for years 5 and 6 and 1600 metres for years 7 and 8. The course is largely free of traffic and marshalled throughout. There is a cap on entries and no registration on the day, so signing up in advance is essential. Recent editions sold out well before the closing date.
