Nationaal Park Marathon

About the race

The Nationaal Park Marathon is an off-road running event through the Hoge Kempen National Park in Maasmechelen. On Sunday it's the runners' turn (walkers go on Saturday), covering well-maintained forest trails, past the pontoon bridge near the slag heaps and through the Ziepbeek valley. You choose between 7, 14, 21 km and the full marathon; places on the marathon are limited. The 21 km starts in waves from 8:30 am, the other distances later. Start and finish are at youth centre Asteroïde. Dogs are allowed on the 7, 14 and 21 km. Part of the entry fee goes to the Nationaal Park Fonds.
