Molenhoeks Makkie sets off from the Stationsstraat in Molenhoek, hard against Nijmegen, and despite the name is anything but easy: the course crosses hilly woodland with short climbs and stretches of loose sand. There are three running distances — 5, 10 and the Mookerslag of 15 kilometres — plus two children's races, the Mini Makkie of 600 metres and the Kids Makkie of 2.3 kilometres. There is a WandelMakkie for walkers as well. The event spans two days and reaches its seventeenth edition.
