The Merit Run is a street race through Het Kiel, organised by the pupils of the Onthaal en Recreatie programme at Merit and run during the school's open day. Everything revolves around a single four-kilometre lap: you run one, two or three of them, arriving at 4, 8 or 12 kilometres. Start and finish are at the school on the VIIde-Olympiadelaan, where bibs are laid out on the schoolyard from half past nine; the gun goes at eleven, after the streets have closed a quarter of an hour earlier. Individual runners and teams from companies and associations are equally welcome. The race used to be called the Olympiade Run and has carried the school's name since 2024.
