Linie1629 Ultra

About the race

The Linie1629 Ultra is a 50 kilometres around 's-Hertogenbosch, starting and finishing at Kasteel Maurick in Vught. The route follows the cycle path along the historic Linie1629, the old line of defence around the city, and is flat and paved. That is a deliberate choice: the organisers present the race as a first ultra, meant for well-trained marathon runners wanting to take the step past forty-two kilometres. The difficulty therefore lies in the distance and not in the terrain — there are no climbs or technical sections to catch you out. At eight in the morning the field sets off, heading back to the same castle.
