La Jauchoise is run at Jauche, in the municipality of Orp-Jauche in Walloon Brabant, on the initiative of the Centre de Hemptinne — a residential facility for adults with a disability, located in that same village. The proceeds go to the residents of that centre, which makes the cause unusually close at hand: you literally run through the neighbourhood you are running for. There are two distances, 5 and 11 kilometres, and both can be either run or walked. That keeps the threshold low enough for neighbours and families, while the 11 kilometres is enough for anyone looking for a real effort.
