The Kruibeekse Polderloop is a village race in Kruibeke, on the river Scheldt between Antwerp and Temse. Two distances are on offer, 7 and 12 kilometres, which keeps the race accessible to recreational runners without shortchanging the seasoned ones. The name refers to the polders of Kruibeke, the expansive area between the village and the river that has been redeveloped in recent years as a flood control zone and in the process become a large nature reserve. That flat, open landscape defines the character of the race: little climbing, but plenty of wind and wide views over the Scheldt valley.
