Atletiekclub Break's Kom Op Tegen Kankerloop is a fixed 1 May fixture in Ekeren. The 14th edition took place on Friday 1 May 2026 and brought together 591 participants for a sporting fundraiser in support of Kom op tegen Kanker. Adult runners choose between 5 km and 10 km on a 2.5 km loop through central Ekeren: two laps for the 5 km, four laps for the 10 km. The children's run for under-13s takes place in Hagelkruispark and remains free of charge. With the adult start on the Markt and finish and event facilities at Ekeren Sport! in Hagelkruispark, the race combines a clear urban loop with a strong local charity purpose.
