The Kastelenloop Diepenheim is an evening half marathon starting and finishing at the Herberg de Pol cultural centre. The course is three loops, each with its own name: the Nijenhuis-Watermolenloop of nearly seven kilometres, the Warmelo-Westerflierloop of nine and the Reggeloop of just over five. You run them individually, as a trio relay — one loop each — or as a pair, in which case you cover the first two. What sets the race apart is that the organisers hold free practice runs over that same course in the months beforehand, at an easy pace, so you know the loops before you start. Primary-school children have a kidsrun of their own. Individual places are limited and sell out every year.
