The Havenloop Elburg is a running event in the harbour of Elburg, starting and finishing at the fish auction hall on the Havenkade. The 5 and 10 kilometres set off together and run through the harbour area and partly along the old town rampart, so the course combines water, a historic town edge and small-town atmosphere in a single loop — demanding, but with views that make up for it. The morning opens with the youth races: 750 metres over one lap for ages four to seven and 1500 metres over two laps for ages eight to eleven, with their own prize-giving. The race is an initiative of Stichting Dispensatio and ties its sporting programme to a charitable cause each time.
