Halfoogstjogging Kasterlee

About the race

The Halfoogstjogging is the evening race that belongs to the Chiro festival of Kasterlee. The start and finish are at the marquee on the Mgr. Miertsstraat, where the race flows straight into the festivities. The course consists of one loop run once, twice or three times, making up 5, 10 or 15 kilometres. Roughly half of the route is unpaved: it leads through the woods around Kasterlee and follows the river Nete for a stretch, which gives the race a distinctly green character. The children run their own races first, over distances from one hundred to six hundred metres, after which the adults set off at seven in the evening. The Chiro of Kasterlee handles the organisation.
