The Groesbeek Trail sets off at Landgoed Hotel Holthurnsche Hof on the Zevenheuvelenweg, on the ridge between Groesbeek and Berg en Dal. There are three distances: 10 kilometres with 150 metres of climbing, 21 with 350 and 30 with 500. By Dutch standards that is a great deal, and it comes from short, steep slopes rather than one long ascent. The routes run over forest paths and single tracks through the hill country that gave this area its name. Trail Events runs cup-free: no cups are handed out at the stations, so your own cup or soft flask belongs in the kit.
