The Groene 10 Mijl van Bree runs through the nature reserves of northern Limburg and opens with the children: at half past two the kids runs set off over 100, 300, 600 and 1000 metres, split by age and free to enter, with a medal for everyone. The adult distances then follow closely on one another — first the ten miles at half past three, then the 10 kilometres and finally the 5 kilometres. That order means the finishers come in at roughly the same time. The organisers provide electronic timing, aid stations on the course and at the finish, and changing rooms with showers.
