The Festi'Trail sets off from the Rue Maka in Yvoir, in the Meuse valley south of Namur. The four courses carry names that rise with the difficulty: the Tour des Friands over 10 kilometres with 400 metres of climbing, the Tour des Vaillants over 19 with 750, the Tour des Barjots over 30 with 1200 and the Marathon du Mont over 43 with 1700. That ratio — forty metres of climb per kilometre on the longest — makes this a climbing race more than a distance race. The start times run inversely to the length, from noon for the marathon to half past three for the ten.
