Dwars door Sint-Pieter is the running event of the Sint-Pieter festival in Kuurne, a West Flemish parish fair where running and celebrating run into one another. The format is a Walk & Run over short laps that you repeat as often as you like: each lap earns you tokens, and with enough tokens you collect your donkey beers at the bar. Walking counts just as much as running, which means the field consists mainly of recreational runners and families. For children there is a preschool race split by age group and an obstacle run for primary school; both are free, with a prize for every participant and trophies for the obstacle run. The event is run by the racing committee of the Sint-Pieter festival committee.
