Duin en Kruid Lenteloop

About the race

The Duin en Kruid Lenteloop sets off at twelve from the entrance to Midden-Herenduin near Santpoort-Noord, in the Zuid-Kennemerland national park. There are three routes, for runners and walkers alike: 4 kilometres, 8 kilometres and a long route billed as 12 that in practice comes out at 13 — something the organisers freely admit. The course alternates paved paths with woodland and dune tracks, stretches of soft sand and a few solid climbs; along the way you meet grazing animals and from the higher sections you get wide views over the dunes. The race runs entirely on volunteers and the proceeds go to charity, which keeps the atmosphere small and personal.
